GENERAL EXCLUSIONS
|
Anything mentioned in the General Conditions, General Exclusions
and Special Conditions set out in the Policy wording. |
|
Any specific exclusion or limitation shown on your policy
schedule. |
|
The standard deductible and any increased amount
you have agreed to pay will be shown on your policy schedule.
|
|
Loss or damage due to wear and tear, gradual deterioration
and consequential loss. |
|
Liability arising from business purposes. Cover may be in
place where cover is extended under Part B - Contents. Please
refer to your policy wording for full details |
|
Radioactive contamination, war risks, terrorism, sonic bangs,
gradual deterioration, and date change |
|
Watercraft (e.g. windsurfers and sailboards) and mechanically
propelled vehicles (e.g. quad bikes and motorcycles) and any
liability arising from them. |
|
Accidental damage occurring in any part of the home that
is commercially let other than to your relatives or other personal
friends. |
|
Certain loss or damage occurring after the insured property
has been unoccupied (see full definitions within the policy
wording) for 60 consecutive days or more |
EXCLUSIONS UNDER PART A - BUILDINGS COVER
|
Loss of or damage to fences gates and hedges or trees from flood or storm.
|
|
Escape of water from a fixed water apparatus when the insured property
is unoccupied (see full definitions within the policy wording)
for 60 days or more unless either:
A) The buildings are kept heated to a temperature of at least 10?C
or
B) The water is shut off and the fixed water tanks, apparatus and pipes are drained.
|
|
Escape of oil, accidental damage, vandalism, theft and accidental
damage to cables, utilities, drains, tanks and pipes when the insured property
is unoccupied.
|
EXCLUSIONS UNDER PART B - CONTENTS COVER:
|
To property left in an unattended vehicle unless all items are
hidden from view, all windows are closed and all doors and the boot are locked.
|
EXCLUSIONS UNDER PART C - FINE ART, GOLD, SILVER, GOLD AND SILVER PLATE AND ANTIQUES:
|
Chewing, scratching, tearing or fouling by any animals.
|
|
To property left in an unattended vehicle unless all items are hidden
from view, all windows are closed and all doors and the boot are locked
|
EXCLUSIONS UNDER PART D - PERSONAL POSSESSIONS:
|
Sports equipment whilst in use.
|
|

Any bicycle being used for racing or hired by anyone outside your
household and loss or damage to pedal cycles unless locked and secured
to a permanent structure or motor vehicle when it is not in use outside of
the private residence.

EXCLUSIONS UNDER PART E - FAMILY LEGAL PROTECTION, EMERGENCY
PROPERTY ASSISTANCE AND IDENTITY FRAUD
FAMILY LEGAL PROTECTION
|
Claims directly or indirectly caused or arising from planning or alteration to buildings.
|
|
Claims arising from a dispute between a landlord and tenant. |
IDENTITY FRAUD
|
Any identity fraud connected with your business, profession or occupation.
|
EXCLUSIONS UNDER PART F - MULTI TRIP TRAVEL INSURANCE
|
There is no cover for trips over 61 days. |
|
There are a number of activities, practices and winter sports
that are excluded - please see paragraphs 2, 3 and 4 in
the general exclusions section of Part F. |
|
Any claim arising directly or indirectly from your failure
to comply with the Important Conditions relating to Health found
in the policy wording. |
|
Wilful, self inflicted injury, solvent, drug or alcohol abuse. |
|
Unlawful actions and any subsequent legal proceedings brought
against you. |
|
Travel to a country or specific area or event which the Foreign
and Commonwealth office or the World Health Organisation has
advised the public not to travel to. |
|
Redundancy caused by misconduct, resignation, voluntary redundancy
or where notification of redundancy was given prior to the application
for this policy. |
|
Any circumstances known prior to booking the trip that could
reasonably be expected to give rise to a claim. |
|
Treatment or surgery which in the opinion of the medical
practitioner in attendance can wait until your return to the
United Kingdom. |
|
Medication, which prior to departure is known to be required. |
|
Expenses incurred as a result of a tropical disease where
the required inoculations have not been undertaken. |
|
Your passport left unattended at any time unless in a hotel
safe, safety deposit box or in your locked accommodation. |
|
Pursuit of any trade, business or profession, or the ownership,
possession or use of any vehicles, aircraft or mechanically
operated watercraft. |
|
Strike, industrial action or air traffic control delay publicly
declared. |
|
Strike or industrial action publicly known by the date the
insurance is purchased by you. |
|
Ski equipment contained in or stolen from an unattended motor
vehicle between 9 p.m. and 9 a.m. or between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.
unless it is in a locked boot or covered from view in a locked
car. |
